How Do I Get My FICO Score?

There is a way to get your credit report from the top three reporting credit bureaus. You are entitled to a free credit report once a year.

Some people are mistakenly under the impression that the 3 credit report with fico score is available for Free.  The annual 3 credit report is FREE but the FICO score is an additional charge.

So, to answer the question "how do I get my FICO score?".

How do I get my FICO score? | You can purchase it

You will be able to purchase your Fico or credit score at the same time you get your free credit report.

Even though it isn’t usually possible to get a free Fico score, you should certainly purchase one to see where you stand in the world of credit.

The FICO score is based on the information in your credit report, and is compared to patterns in hundreds of thousands of past credit reports of others.

This FICO score will show the level of YOUR credit risk - it is a formula that allows the financial world to measure whether your a "good risk" to lend money to or not.

How do I get my FICO score? | You must have the following……

Your credit report must contain at least one account that has remained open for six months or more, and one account that has been updated in the last six months. There needs to be something to base this score on.

These credit scores are called FICO scores because they are produced from a software developed by, Fair, Isaac and Company.
These scores provide the best guide available to future credit risk, based on credit report information only.

There is no one credit score used to make decisions on what type of person you are, or if you will be able to repay a new loan easier than any other.

These are the reasons:

* Credit bureau scores are only one of the scores used.
* Many lenders have their own scores, these often include the Fico credit score and other information about you.
* There are other credit bureau scores, and these scores may show your credit score is different from the Fico.
* Your credit score can be different at each credit bureau.
* The Fico score from each bureau considers only the data in your credit report for that company.
* Your Fico score will change over time
* As your information changes at the credit bureau, your credit score will change accordingly.

You need to keep track of your Fico score periodically, the same as you will need to check your credit report.
